Keep These Commandments On Your Hearts

Deuteronomy 6:5-9 says:  "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."

When our friend Sharron ordered two of these 5x7 wooden plaques, one for beside her front door and one for beside her back door, we realized that this would be a great way to surround yourself with God's Word.  Misty still has in her memory every Bible verse that was on wall art in her childhood home, because she looked at them so often.  We hope you will want to surround yourself and your family with scripture in this way too!

We would love to put whatever scripture you want on a 5x7 plaque for you.  For information on prices please e-mail us at willowway

We are Arkansans and enjoy rooting for the Razorbacks especially during football season!  These little pigs are cute embroidered on baby clothes or on tea-stained muslin and framed.

Don't Rush Me

We like to put things off till the last minute, thus the quote on this canvas!  If you have a quote you would like put on canvas we would be glad to customize one for you.

Hydrangeas

Below is a close-up of a design we embroidered on a pink baby onesie.
"Hydrangea"

Trees

A few weeks ago we created "Antique Trees."  This is the same piece customized for a friend, who requested art with earthtones and a little orange.

If you like this, we would love to make one for you
in your own color choices.

Garland

Our friend's spring baby shower was bird themed of course!  Trees adorned with long ribbons and bird ornaments stood on the tables and created a whimsical atmosphere.

We spray painted branches white and used white
sand to stand them up in glass cylinder vases.

These are the birds that hung on the branches at the baby shower.   After the party we made them into a garland and the new mom hung the "Bird Garland" over her baby's crib.  (See earlier post entitled "We Love Canvas Art!)

Blocks

We created a set of blocks for Fall that say "Boo," and some "Joy" blocks for Christmas.

"Fall Blocks"

These "Christmas Blocks" are covered in pictures
from an old Christmas children's book, and the raised
glitter letters give the blocks a true vintage look.

Cassie's Art

Cassie asked us to make her two pieces of art for her living room, and her colors are pink and green.  The first is a tree made up six canvases, and the second is a geometric design that coordinates with the tree.  She loved the art and sent us these pics!

The flowers add a fun 3-D effect to the art!
We call this  "Cassie's Tree."

A Castle For Regin

Regin wanted a castle for her room!  This canvas works perfectly in her princess room.

"Regin's Castle"

Mandolyn's Blocks

These blocks were made as a gift for baby Mandolyn.

More Owls

We made these three little guys for Gina's sister-in-law Whitney.  The paper is more eye-catching than we usually use and the results were interesting, funky designs!

We will call these "Funky Owls!"

Katelyn's Verse

Misty's friend Amy wanted art for her daughter's room!  She perused the blog and liked a canvas that we made last year (see "We love canvas art!").  Amy wanted the canvas turned a different way, and a little more turquoise, but this was the end result!  We will name this design "Katelyn's Verse" since it was originally made for Gina's sister Katelyn.
If you have a verse or a saying you would like put on a canvas, please e-mail us at willowwayhandicrafts@yahoo.com

Monkeys

These monkeys would be great for a boy or girls' room.

"Girl Monkeys"

"Boy Monkeys"

Trees

We must really like trees.  We make lots of tree art!  These were done on 8 x 10 wooden plaques, and again these pieces can be made to suit whatever color scheme or decor you would like.

We will call these "Leafy Trees."

"Small Grace Tree"

                         Close- ups

Baaaaaa

Our church held a fundraiser for our church nursery.  Guests brought gifts of toys and books to furnish our nursery, and we decorated in a pink and green color scheme with sheep as the theme.  We made sheep ornaments to decorate a tall tree in the center of the table, where also guests could clip donations to the branches.
Gina and Misty forgot to take pictures at the
actual event!  So this is an art re-enactment.
"Sheep Ornament"
These ornaments can easily be turned into a garland.  (See
later post titled "Garland")

"Sheep Plaque"

For Adults Only

Most of our posts are pictures of art for kids' rooms or nurseries.  This post includes pictures of art you can hang in other rooms in your home!
This piece hangs in Gina's kitchen so we are going to call it "Gina's Kitchen!"  It is bright and a little quirky, and the geometric pattern invites you to just sit and stare.
These are close-ups of the art.  The diamond shaped fun-colored papers give the art a 3-D look.  This was made in bright, fun colors, but the same art can easily be custom made to fit your own color scheme and style.

We will call this "Antique Trees."  As with much of our art, the canvas and papers have been antiqued to give the piece a vintage look.

Close ups of "Antique Trees."

We would love to make custom art for you.  "Gina's Kitchen" and "Antique Trees" can both be made to compliment your own decor.
